Cleveland Browns 1996 Action Packed Football Cards
(Complete Set)

Action Packed Company created and issued football cards from 1990-1997. Pinnacle Brands acquired Action Packed in 1995 and Donruss/Playoff Brands acquired Pinnacle in 1998. The 1996 issue would be the last Action Packed Browns Team set made since the team moved to Baltimore that year. This set includes only two cards. One is the regular or base card of Browns quarterback Eric Zeier and the other is an Artist's Proof card of him. According to Topps-Heritage, Proof cards were used by trading card companies "to test, compare, and review card designs, photographs, new technology, color, and overall look and feel of the card before releasing it to the public. A true proof card is not created for release to the general public, but instead are intended to be used only internally by the card company. Proof cards can be found in many various formats, depending on what the company is specifically wanting to review or test about the new card design. Some proof cards have blank backs with no printing, and others may have blank fronts." By the mid-90s Proof cards like the Zeier card below became parallel cards and were inserted into random packs of football cards. This set completes the Action Packed Browns cards issued from the inaugural 1990 set through the 1996 set.
