Cleveland Browns 1999 Giant Eagles Football Cards
(Complete Set)
With the return of the Browns to the NFL in 1999, Pittsburgh-based supermarket chain Giant Eagle decided to sponsor the Cleveland Browns in conjunction with the opening of their stores in the Cleveland area. They sold Browns footballs, key holders, blankets, children's shirts and caps, sweatshirts, T-shirts, polo shirts, long-sleeved denim shirts, hats, NFL bobble-head dolls, and mugs. They also issued a 24-card team set of the Browns. These cards had borderless photos on the front and another action photo and head shot of the player on the back. These cards differed from traditional football cards in that they didn't offer the usual biographies on the backs of the cards. |
